July 16th 2015

On Elijah's Day of birth we had an amazing excursion to the Archeology Lab, thanks to our awesome friend Megan!! In the morning we told him where we were going and he was so excited! "Mom I need to go find my green magnifying glass!" Elijah loved that we needed key cards to enter all the rooms, it was very official. They took out a dog skeleton and he was in his glory "hmmm....this is also a shoulder blade...let's see if we can put it together like a puzzle". After all the centrifuge spinning, bone cutting, chemical mixing excitement we made our way to the patio for a snack. It was decorated with massive balloons "MOM! THEY DECORATED FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!" It was actually for Jean Chrétien...but we let him think it was for him. We basked in the sun with some muffins, a glorious view and my little four year old who cannot wait for university. I love you.

Mothers Day...

I woke up to some yummy homemade granola and the most beautiful splatter paintings that Elijah and Gavin painted for me. Then we quickly loaded up our stroller and took a long jaunt on the bus to the ferry and made our way over to Bowen Island. We had a delightful picnic and as we were eating so many families of geese swam by- all with their new fuzzy babies of various sizes - so fitting for mothers day. We went on a beautiful hike and played in the most amazing trees. After we made our way back to the beach and enjoyed a delightful portabello mushroom, goat cheese pizza with fresh arugula for dinner. It was such a glorious day, I love that this is where I spent my first mothers day with Elijah that made it even more special. I love you boys.

Cherry Blossoms...

After getting off the bus we stumbled upon a street that was litterly snowing cherry blossom petals! The kids played in them as if it were a pile of leaves. Vancouver in the Spring is simply unreal. So magical.

Happy Easter!

When I took this photo instead of saying cheese Elijah said "skillful egg painting"
"Mom! The Easter bunny must have gone to Shoppers Drug Mart!!"
-Easter eggs and fish eggs all in the same day-
"mmmm....smells like nectar"
-Elijah felt compelled to join a fellow cyclist for a little lay down-
We had a glorious Easter Sunday! Elijah rode his bike from Arbutus and Broadway all the way to Granville Island...not without stopping to smell the flowers on the way. En-route was a pink kite flying festivity and we all happily joined in. After a long day of excitement the kids both fell asleep on the way to dinner, so Dan and I took the liberty to eat a beautiful meal at a swanky restaurant. Okay so the kids ended up eating cold spaghetti and carrot sticks on the bus ride home, but everyone was happy...that's the important part right?
