hanging at home

We have had some great days just hanging out at home. Elijah's cheeks are growing rapid pace and he is gracing us with the occasional smile, but we must work for it! I have learned that in Vancouver one cannot go out in the rain without rain boots and once a sunny day presents itself...use the backyard pool.

Harvest Festival

Today we strolled down Dunbar street for the Harvest Festival. I was expecting pumpkins, veggies, craft tables...hmm...it was more free junk food, cheesy pop music, massive twister game and a cool old bus.

And since Elijah was snug in his carrier and you cannot see him...here is a cute photo...because who I am kidding you all check the blog to see him!

Two months and counting...

We celebrated Elijah's two month birthday with a trip to Dads university. It was marvelous!

Don't hurry...don't worry...and don't forget to smell the flowers...

Elijah Loved the Social Science Library, he was extra quiet the whole time we were there. He was particularly amazed with the Statistic Journals! Thank you to the overly friendly librarian who took this picture.

A dub dub

We were talking with our landlords and  apparently our bedroom used to be a bar before they renovated it, so we have a counter, shelving and a sink with a big mirror behind it. It is a perfect change station and bath area, Elijah loves to look at himself in the mirror when he gets his diaper changed. He must get that from his Grand Papa! Everyone with a baby needs a sink in their room! Although I am not sure how much longer Elijah's fourteen and a half pound body will squeeze into it's confines. Yes we had him weighed at the meet up group put on by the public health nurses, and he was 14.75 pounds...but he had a cloth diaper and his sleeper on and I was not about to strip him down again. Why? It was our first meeting so I dressed him up all cute in blue cords, a stripy sweater and a little hat, as soon as I took him out of the carrier when we arrived he was soaked in pee. I took all his clothes off, he was screaming and I changed him into the sleeper that was at the bottom of my diaper bag...who knew that it did not fit anymore?? So I squeezed him into it, thankfully it was one without feet! It was a nice introduction..."Hi I am Juli and this is my baby Elijah"...flustered and sweaty with a babe stuffed like a sausage "nice to meet you".

Loving the bath!

Look at his toes...so cute!

Elijah in his chicken towel..looking an awful lot like me when I was a babe!
Elijah is two months old today! We will post later on what we were up to on his special day!!

Off to the Fair!

Today we went to Southlands Country Fair at a beautiful riding club near our place. It was so much fun,we watched the horse jumping, perused the market and I even had corn in a cup! Elijah slept the whole time.. but I am sure he still loved it.

I love riding attire!

I think Elijah was totally into the snake!

Guerrilla diaper change on someones front lawn on the way to dinner...

We got caught and the lady asked if we needed a sink! Such a friendly neighbourhood.

Dunbar Bound

We have arrived safely in Vancouver after a short and easy plane ride! A very excited Daddy came to pick us up, it had been five whole days since we had seen him. Our place is perfect and we are settling in nicely, we live in a great community called Dunbar Southlands. It has everything we need, we are walking distance to the library, community center, two grocery stores, baby shops, cafes, sushi restaurants and parks!! We are also a very short drive to the ocean and beaches. Here are some photos of our first day out and about...

One month and counting...

Six weeks have passed and our beautiful boy has grown so much already! We have been so busy with our big move! Dan  is already in Vancouver, he drove "Megan the red wagon" up the other day with all our stuff. He was the first one to see our place, apparently it is quite nice...we even have a pool! I will fly with Elijah and it will be his first time on a plane. Crazy!
I am sure you would all like to see some photos to see how our beautiful babe has grown over these past weeks.
So cute and so small...only a few days old.

Your first time outside and loving it!

Meeting cousin Barrett for the first time
My cousin Carrie and I were both due on July 10th our Great Mama Maria's birthday, but that day came and went. Then July 16th rolled around and we both knew the babes would soon arrive, Elijah made his apperance that day and Barrett decided he wanted his own birthday and waited until 12:30am on the 17th!They will always have a special connection!

Your first bath!!

So clean and beautiful!
